In the Carolina Theatre’s 100th year, one of Durham’s most celebrated film festivals returned for its 31st.

From August 13–16, 2026, the historic Carolina Theatre of Durham welcomed filmmakers, artists, movie lovers, and members of the community for the annual OUTSOUTH Queer Film Festival—four days celebrating storytelling, creativity, representation, and connection through film.

The Image & Light Studio had the privilege of being there to help document it.

This month's Carbs & Carburetors event at Leland Little's Collector Car Department did not disappoint. The morning brought together an incredible lineup of classic cars, great conversation with fellow car enthusiasts, and — of course — coffee and donuts to round things out.

Lowrider Day at Cars & Coffee Morrisville is today, August 1, 2026, taking place from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 5425 Page Road, Durham, NC. It was an impressive display of custom lowriders, featuring meticulous paintwork and hydraulic setups, alongside an array of food trucks serving tasty options, and a wide variety of vehicles of all makes and models, all accompanied by friendly conversation and strong community vibes.
